Martin O'Neill has revealed his anger with UEFA after being informed that Sunderland will have to rearrange their match with reading for December.
Last month's clash between the two sides was postponed when heavy rain flooded the pitch at the Stadium of Light.
O'Neill had hoped that the match could be played in midweek before the busy Christmas period but UEFA rules prevent teams from playing league fixtures on the same night as the Champions League.
The Black Cats manager said: "The only time is December, one of the most hectic months.
"I find it absolutely extraordinary, and it adds insult to injury. I'd like to play the game sooner rather than later."
