Garry Monk has revealed that improving Swansea City's defensive record has been one of the team's biggest achievements this season.
Swansea have managed to keep 11 clean sheets so far this season thanks to fine form in the back four and an excellent campaign from Lukasz Fabianski, and Monk admits that becoming a tougher defence to breach was a pre-season target for the squad.
"That's a motivation for the team, not just to win games and play good football, it's to be good defensively and get those clean sheets to get that recognition," the Swansea boss told reporters.
"It's a sign of a good team, if you can be good defensively and offensively you're doing something right.
"I spoke to the group at the start of the season. We all had our own discussions about what the group felt they wanted to improve on, the targets they wanted to set, and those clean sheets were one of them."
Swansea, who currently occupy eighth spot, host Hull City on Saturday afternoon.
