West Ham United winger Stewart Downing has insisted that the squad is confident about staying in the Premier League this season.
The Hammers are currently six points above the relegation zone with nine games left to play following Saturday's 3-1 defeat at Stoke City.
Despite suffering a setback in their bid for survival, Downing believes that the team can ease their relegation fears in the coming weeks.
"We're confident we can get out of it," he told the club's official website. "The four wins in a row during February proves we can get results, but we've lost our last two and we have to correct that.
"We've got Manchester United next which will be a big test for us and we need to get points on the board."
West Ham welcome the Premier League champions to Upton Park on Saturday.
