West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce has revealed that he expects defender Winston Reid to stay at the club.
The New Zealand international, who is out of contract at the end of the season, has been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal.
Despite admitting that the decision whether to keep hold of Reid ultimately lies with the board, Allardyce is confident that the 26-year-old will remain at Upton Park.
"There's no choice for me: he stays, that's it," he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News. "If somebody makes a big offer then obviously the chairman decides, but for me he's staying.
"The chairman decides whether the money is big enough, but for me he stays and I think that the way the club has improved, I think he will stay."
Reid joined West Ham from Danish club FC Midtjylland in 2010.
