Joey Barton having medical at West Ham United?

Free agent Joey Barton is reportedly having a medical at West Ham United following his release from Queens Park Rangers in June.

Free agent Joey Barton is reportedly undergoing a medical at West Ham United this afternoon.

The 32-year-old has been searching for a new club since June after he was released by Queens Park Rangers when his contract expired.

Last week, it was reported that the outspoken midfielder was training with Watford in the hope of earning a contract at the newly-promoted Premier League club.

However, according to Sky Sports News, Barton could become Slaven Bilic's seventh summer signing at West Ham as he is currently having medical tests ahead of a proposed transfer.

Barton has played for Manchester City, Newcastle United, QPR and Marseille in his career so far.
