Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly among a number of Premier League clubs who are interested in signing Inter Milan forward Edin Dzeko.

Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly among a number of clubs who hold an interest in Inter Milan forward Edin Dzeko.

The 36-year-old enjoyed a successful first campaign at San Siro, contributing 17 goals from his 49 appearances in all competitions.

However, the return of Romelu Lukaku on loan from Chelsea means that the veteran frontman has fallen down the pecking order.

Although a year still remains on his contract, Inter are unlikely to generate a significant fee for the Bosnia-Herzegovina international.

Nevertheless, given the club's financial situation, they can still benefit from getting Dzeko's wages off their outgoings before the end of the summer transfer window.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Wolves are one of several Premier League teams who are monitoring any developments with Dzeko's future.

Having effectively been demoted to third choice behind Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez, Dzeko may be open to earning more first-team football elsewhere.

With Fabio Silva said to be close to departing for Anderlecht on loan, Wolves will be in the market for a replacement as they bid to solve their goalscoring issues from the last two seasons.

Although the Molineux outfit cannot offer European football, Dzeko would expect regular starts ahead of or alongside Raul Jimenez should he make the switch to the West Midlands.

The report adds that Leicester City and Everton are also keen on Dzeko, who scored 50 goals in 130 Premier League outings for Manchester City between 2011 and 2015.

Although Leicester are currently well stocked for attacking options, Everton require additions with Richarlison and Salomon Rondon having both departed Goodison Park.

Dzeko allegedly has further interest from a number of clubs in Italy and Germany, where he represented Wolfsburg before earning his transfer to Man City 11 years ago.

A recent report has claimed that Dzeko has already rejected the opportunity to sign for Juventus.
