Rafael Nadal has described the Hamburg Open as an "important title" after the Spaniard won his third title of the year.
The former world number one beat 2013 champion Fabio Fognini in straight sets to secure the 67th title of his career yesterday.
The Spaniard, who suffered with cramp throughout the match, said in his post-match interview on court: "It was a great match, many great points, many breaks, we fought hard. I had many ups and down. It's an important title for me."
The win moves Nadal up to ninth in the world rankings.
