Thomas Vermaelen has said that it is a "dream" to represent Barcelona after signing a five-year contract with the Catalan outfit on Sunday.
The Belgian international had been strongly linked with a move to Manchester United this summer, but made the switch from Arsenal to the Camp Nou this weekend.
"It's the dream of many people to play at this club," he told the club's official website.
"You play with the best players in the world and therefore it's a great honour to play with them here. It's good for me because I will be a better player if I train every day with these players."
"I played at Arsenal and what I do here is no different. We should be winning every game and I understand there will always be pressure to perform well and that's what I try to do."
The 28-year-old passed his medical with Barca yesterday.
