Celtic boss Neil Lennon hailed his team after they recorded a 1-0 win over Rangers on Wednesday evening.
Joe Ledley's second-half header was enough to secure all the points at Celtic Park, and Lennon has admitted that he was delighted with his team's character.
"It was a good performance, it wasn't a brilliant performance but it was a good, controlled team performance," Lennon told Sky Sports News.
"To be fair to the players they've galvanised themselves over the last couple of months, we're looking a good team and I think the European games have been a huge help in terms of this team growing."
Celtic enter the New Year with a two-point advantage at the top of the Scottish Premier League.
