Chelsea to offer Didier Drogba coaching role?

Chelsea will look to bring Didier Drogba back to the West London club as a coach, according to reports.

Chelsea are reportedly looking to bring Didier Drogba back to the club as a coach, two years after the Ivorian left Stamford Bridge to join Galatasaray.

Drogba faces his old team in the first leg of their Champions League last 16 tie this week, but the 35-year-old is set to leave Turkey when his contract expires in the summer and the Sunday People claims that owner Roman Abramovich wants the striker to help nurture the club's next generation of playing talent.

It is thought that the Russian oligarch is keen for the West London club to be more self-sufficient by bringing through its own stars having than laying out millions in transfer fees.

Manager Jose Mourinho is said to be behind the idea and was even looking to bolster his strike force last summer with his former frontman.

Drogba's last kick for Chelsea was his winning penalty that sealed Chelsea's first European Cup in 2012.
