Chelsea midfielder Juan Mata has insisted that he and his club teammates have confidence in striker Fernando Torres.
Torres has struggled for form this season but after the Spanish forward scored five goals in his last three games, Mata has revealed that the 28-year-old had been threatening a scoring spree for months.
Mata told reporters: "This is what I saw from him in training all those weeks and months, so I knew it would happen.
"And when I said I could see it coming, that was true. Fernando was, is and will be always an important player.
"He is a very good striker for us. Now you can see he is fully fit and we have a lot of confidence in him."
Mata and Torres both scored in Chelsea's 3-1 victory over Monterrey in the Club World Cup on Thursday.
