Gianluca Vialli says that Frank Lampard should leave Chelsea in the summer.

Former Chelsea manager Gianluca Vialli believes that Frank Lampard should leave Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.

The England international is out of contract come the conclusion of the campaign, but is expected to agree fresh terms should Jose Mourinho rejoin the Blues as their coach.

However, Vialli feels that it is time for Lampard to call it a day at Chelsea.

"In my opinion it's probably the right time for them to say goodbye to each other and leave on good terms," Vialli told Sky Sports News.

"Frank has a fantastic opportunity to try something new, perhaps in Los Angeles or somewhere else in America, have fun for the next three or four years and make some money.

"Then one day he could perhaps come back to Chelsea as a hero. I really hope he scores a few more goals to become the top scorer in the history of the club."

Vialli managed Chelsea for two years from 1998.
