David Beckham will be involved in the Olympics in some capacity, according to a report.
The Mirror claims that the Los Angeles Galaxy star is to be offered a non-playing role at the event by chairman Lord Sebastian Coe.
"David has been an extraordinary supporter - probably our number one supporter - of the Games from the very beginning and is keen to continue his enthusiastic support right to the end," said Coe.
"He is from East London and knows how important the Games and sport are to young people.
"He is a great role model and we are lucky to have such an advocate."
Beckham was a shock omission from Stuart Pearce's Team GB squad following his work as an ambassador for the Games.
Robbie Savage hit out at Pearce in the wake of the announcement, calling the decision a "disgrace".
