Jamie Carragher is hopeful that Liverpool will 'fuck up' Everton's Christmas and New Year by beating their Merseyside rivals in the Premier League and FA Cup.

The neighbours were drawn against one another in the third-round draw on Monday night.

Both clubs have struggled in domestic cup competitions this season, with Liverpool failing to get past the first hurdle in the EFL Cup as they were beaten by Leicester City.

Everton did one better by progressing into the next round, but they ended up losing 2-1 to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

The two rivals will go head to head this Sunday in the Premier League, but they will not have to wait long to face each other again as the FA Cup tie will be played on either January 5 or January 8.

After the draw was made, Carragher tweeted: "Delighted! We can f**k EFC's Xmas & New Year up!!"

Liverpool earned a 3-1 win the last time that they played Everton.
