Victor Valdes's supposed move to Liverpool has reportedly collapsed.
The goalkeeper, who has been a free agent since he left Barcelona at the end of last season, has been strongly linked with a switch to Anfield in recent months.
However, due to a cruciate knee ligament injury, Reds manager Brendan Rodgers wanted to check on the 32-year-old's fitness before the move was confirmed and is thought to have offered the keeper a four-day trial at the club's Melwood training base.
Valdes, though, has rejected that opportunity, believing that he should not have to prove himself, according to The People.
It is now thought that the Spaniard will hold discussions with other interested parties.
