Real Madrid have told Manchester City that they will not sell Pepe, according to a report.
Manuel Pellegrini was reportedly considering a move in the summer, with a bid of about £28m plus add-ons being prepared by the City hierarchy.
However, Sports Direct News claims that Madrid are unwilling to discuss a transfer and Carlo Ancelotti has told the defender that he is an important part of the team.
The report goes on to say that City are likely to turn their attention to Porto defender Eliaquim Mangala.
