A former Manchester United player who was found with stolen goods has been jailed for 15 months.
Ronnie Wallwork, 34, from Failsworth, was found breaking up stolen car parts at a scrapyard in Lancashire.
He pleaded guilty to three counts of receiving stolen goods at Preston Crown Court.
Police stumbled upon Wallwork while investigating unconnected armed robberies in the area.
Wallwork made 19 appearances under Sir Alex Ferguson between 1995 and 2002 before a six-year spell at West Bromwich Albion, where he played on 93 occasions.
He finished his career with a brief stint at Sheffield Wednesday.
