Bayern Munich have reportedly emerged as unexpected frontrunners to sign Aaron Ramsey from Arsenal next summer.
The Wales international has been told that he will not be offered a new deal at the Emirates Stadium and will be free to leave the club when his current contract expires at the end of the season.
A host of Europe's top clubs are understood to be interested in snapping Ramsey up on a free transfer, including the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea.
The Express reports that Bayern have now joined the race and are among the favourites for his signature as they look to bring the 27-year-old to the Bundesliga.
The German champions are keen to sit down with Ramsey's representatives in January, when the player will be free to talk to foreign clubs regarding a potential move.
Ramsey has spent more than 10 years at the Emirates, making almost 350 appearances for the club across all competitions.
