Saint-Etienne manager Christophe Galtier has confirmed that he is interested in signing Ricky van Wolfswinkel from Norwich City.
The striker, who scored just one goal in his first season with the Canaries, underwent a medical with the Ligue 1 side over the weekend.
Galtier told L'Equipe: "He played a pre-season friendly against us two years ago. He hurt us a lot and we all noticed his quality.
"Since the end of last season, we had noticed his name. He is a box player, which has the technical quality of Dutch players. They really have a good school for footballers but for men too."
Norwich broke their transfer record to bring Van Wolfswinkel in from Sporting Lisbon last summer.
