Soccer Aid: England 3-1 Rest of the World

England beat a Rest of the World X1 3-1 at tonight's Soccer Aid match in Manchester.

England have beaten a Rest of the World XI 3-1 in this evening's Soccer Aid match at Old Trafford.

The visitors, managed by Kenny Dalglish, took the lead in style when Serge Pizzorno curled in a spectacular effort over David Seamen and into the net.

There were chances for England to level things before the break, but Aston Merrygold and Kevin Phillips were unable to convert.

England's equaliser came in controversial circumstances as Graeme Le Saux's effort appeared to deflect off Teddy Sheringham's arm and past Patrick Kielty.

The turnaround was complete with just over 15 minutes to play when Jonathan Wilkes calmly slotted past the onrushing Kielty.

Phillips made sure of the win with two minutes to play thanks to his precise drive.
