Netherlands have claimed that Tottenham Hotspur winger Steven Bergwijn is 'not fit enough' to feature in their upcoming matches.
Bergwijn had initially been named in a 25-man squad for the upcoming matches with Spain, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Poland.
However, in an official statement released by the Dutch FA, it was suggested that the 23-year-old is not in the right condition to represent his country.
A statement read: "Steven Bergwijn has left the training camp of the Dutch national team. The Tottenham Hotspur attacker was examined by the medical staff of Oranje on Monday, upon arrival in Zeist.
"It turned out that he is not fit enough and that the Oranje matches must pass by."
Bergwijn has made six starts and four substitute outings in all competitions this season, with his last appearance coming from the bench against Ludogorets Razgrad on Thursday.
However, the attacker did not feature in the squad for Spurs' most recent fixture against West Bromwich Albion at the weekend.
