Watford head coach Quique Flores has dismissed speculation that he tried to sign Juan Iturbe.
A recent report claimed that the Hornets had failed to meet Roma's asking price for the Argentine, who is now said to be close to joining Bournemouth.
However, Flores has insisted that the 22-year-old was not on his shortlist of potential January additions.
"We decided the names of the players we want and he is not in our plans," the Spanish boss told reporters.
"We have other names and if we can get them to Watford in January it would be perfect. If not we will continue with the same players."
It has been suggested that Bournemouth will initially sign Iturbe on loan.
