West Ham United co-chairman David Gold remaining coy over Joey Barton reports

West Ham co-chairman David Gold refuses to reveal whether former QPR midfielder Joey Barton will join the club.

West Ham United co-chairman David Gold has remained coy over reports that Joey Barton could join the club.

The 32-year-old midfielder has been a free agent since leaving Queens Park Rangers earlier this summer.

Barton is understood to have undergone a medical with the Hammers earlier this week, but Gold is refusing to give anything away.

"There's absolutely nothing I can tell you about Joey Barton," he told Sky Sports News. "Nothing at all."

West Ham continue their Premier League campaign on Saturday when they welcome Leicester City to Upton Park.
