Ronan O'Gara kicks 14 points as Munster defeat Scarlets in the Heineken Cup.

Ronan O'Gara kicked 14 of Munster's 19 points as they defeated Scarlets at Thomond Park this afternoon.

Hosts Munster took a 6-3 lead into the break courtesy of two penalties from O'Gara, while Stephen Jones scored a solitary penalty for the Scarlets.

Munster's James Coughlan went over for the game's first try after 52 minutes, which O'Gara converted.

The Irish international then made two further penalties to secure the victory.

Ken Owens scored a late try for Scarlets, which Rhys Priestland converted. Priestland had the final say of the match when he kicked a 66th-minute penalty.
