Andy Murray books his spot in the third round of the Italian Open with a 6-2 7-5 victory over Marcel Granollers.

Andy Murray has booked his spot in the third round of the Italian Open thanks to a 6-2 7-5 victory over Marcel Granollers.

The first set remained on serve until 2-3 when Murray broke to move two games ahead, before breaking his Spanish opponent once more at 2-5 to take the first set in just 36 minutes.

The pair exchanged breaks at the start of the second, before Murray held at 1-1 to move ahead and put the pressure back on Granollers.

The second set remained on serve until 5-6, when Murray secured his second break of the set to book his spot in the next round.
