Richard Gasquet will fight for a place in the Qatar Open final after defeating Lukas Lacko in straight sets in Doha.

A straight-sets victory from Richard Gasquet over Lukas Lacko has ensured a place in the semi-finals of the Qatar Open for the Frenchman.

The number two seed nabbed the first break of serve and stormed through the opening set by dropping just one game and taking a strong lead courtesy of powerful serves and swift returns.

The second set was more evenly matched, with Lacko finding his feet and able to keep the contest going by the way of serve.

Despite holding well initially, Lacko relinquished a service game, which allowed Gasquet to regain control and push on to clinch the second set and the match.
