David Ferrer produces a dominant performance to move into the quarter-finals of Wimbledon after a 6-3 6-2 6-3 victory over Juan Martin del Potro.

David Ferrer has ensured that he will compete in the quarter-finals of Wimbledon for the first time after completing a straight-sets victory over Juan Martin del Potro.

The Spaniard looked in charge throughout the match and edged the first set 6-3 by securing the only break of serve in the opener.

Del Potro failed to produce his best tennis for any sustained period of time and Ferrer took full advantage by constantly putting his opponent under pressure during his service games on Centre Court.

Ferrer proved to be equal to Del Potro's powerful serve and broke him twice in the second to race ahead by two sets.

Del Potro couldn't find any fluency when he needed to in the third set and Ferrer proved why he is rated so highly by breaking serve twice to secure the third set 6-3 and book a spot in the last eight.
