Arsene Wenger: 'Jack Wilshere future to be decided before World Cup'

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says that Jack Wilshere will decide whether to renew his Gunners contract before the end of the season.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has claimed that midfielder Jack Wilshere will decide whether to renew his contract with the club before the end of the season.

The England international, whose current deal expires in the summer, is expected to inform the Gunners whether he intends to stay at the Emirates Stadium before the World Cup finals.

"He has the freedom to make that decision," Wenger told reporters during his latest press conference.

"He knows I want him to stay. He is focused on winning the next game all the time and will make his decision a bit later.

"I think he will make a decision before the end of the season. He will not want to go to the World Cup and have not settled his situation."

Wilshere has been tipped to leave Arsenal in search of first-team football and was most recently linked with Wolverhampton Wanderers.
