Barcelona are reportedly preparing to open talks with Lionel Messi over a new contract.
The 32-year-old, who has scored 603 goals in 687 appearances for the Catalan giants in all competitions, has entered the final two years of his current deal at Camp Nou.
According to ESPN, Barca want the Argentina international to commit to the club beyond the end of 2021 and are therefore set to open talks over a fresh deal.
The report claims that the Spanish champions plan to offer Messi a new four-year contract, which would take the South American to the age of 36.
The attacker struck 51 times in 50 appearances for his club in all competitions last season, while he has won a staggering 10 La Liga titles since stepping into the first team.
Messi, who has also lifted four Champions Leagues during a glittering career, is yet to link up with Barca for pre-season following his involvement in the 2019 Copa America.
