Neymar and Luis Suarez were once again on the scoresheet as Barcelona beat Villarreal 3-0 in La Liga on Sunday.

Neymar opened the scoring on the hour mark at Camp Nou, before Suarez netted from the penalty spot to double the home side's lead against the Yellow Submarine.

Neymar then scored his second of the match in the 85th minute to send the hosts three points clear at the top of La Liga. Villarreal, meanwhile, remain in fifth spot on 20 points.

BARCELONA

Goal

Claudio Bravo: Did not have an awful lot to do for long spells, but made a super save to deny Samu Castillejo late in the first period and was strong from crosses when he needed to be. (6/10)

Defence

Dani Alves: Was not as attack-minded as is often the case, but the Brazilian put in a mature performance to keep Denis Suarez quiet for long spells. Did what was needed for his team. (7/10)

Gerard Pique: Roberto Soldado threatened the centre-back in the first period, but he recovered to produce a strong performance. Received a standing ovation when he was substituted late on. (7/10)

Jeremy Mathieu: Had a wonderful chance to score in the first half, but his low effort was straight at Villarreal's goalkeeper. Was one of five Barcelona players to pick up a booking at Camp Nou. (6/10)

Jordi Alba: Had a couple of difficult moments in the first period, but drove his team forward in the second and was an increasing threat in a wide position. Always such a dependable performer. (7/10)

Midfield

Sergi Roberto: Currently enjoying a long run in the Barcelona first team and the midfielder is growing with each game. Nothing spectacular, but kept the ball moving in the middle of the park. (7/10)

Andres Iniesta: Dropped into his usual midfield role and radiated class during another impressive performance. Might have scored in the first half, but was denied from close range. (7/10)

Sergio Busquets: Recently branded 'the best midfielder in the world' by Luis Enrique and he was again sensational here. His pass into Neymar for the opening goal was a thing of absolute beauty. (8/10)

Attack

Munir El-Haddadi: Did not have an awful lot of chances to score himself, but once again won a penalty for his team after showing super feet inside the box. Certainly benefiting from regular football. (7/10)

Luis Suarez: Another game - another goal and another assist. Netted Barcelona's second from the penalty spot before setting up Neymar for the home side's third. Such a threat. (9/10)

Neymar: Another man-of-the-match performance from the Brazilian, who opened the scoring before netting a sensational second late on. Villarreal just could not live with the attacker's movement. (9/10)

Substitutes

Sandro Ramirez: Munir appears to be ahead of Sandro in the pecking order at the moment and the Spaniard was only given the final 10 minutes to impress here. Saw little of the ball. (6/10)

Marc Bartra: Will have been disappointed not to have started ahead of Mathieu and the centre-back was not introduced until the 82nd minute. Just cannot seem to establish himself as first choice. (6/10)

VILLARREAL

Goal

Alphonse Areola: Might have conceded three times, but was one of his team's best players on the afternoon. Made a couple of wonderful saves, including one from a point-blank Iniesta effort. (7/10)

Defence

Mario Gaspar: Has been one of the best full-backs in La Liga this season, but after picking up a yellow card late in the first half, the Spaniard struggled to get near the likes of Neymar and Suarez. (6/10)

Daniele Bonera: Made a couple of super blocks in the first period as Villarreal frustrated the home side, but like a number of his teammates, the centre-back struggled when Barcelona raised the tempo. (6/10)

Victor Ruiz: Villarreal are definitely a better side when Ruiz is in it, but even the classy defender could not prevent a second half of domination from Barcelona. Had a difficult afternoon. (6/10)

Jaume Costa: Had a good first period, but cost his team a second goal when he dived into Munir to concede a penalty. It was a poor decision from a player that should have known better. (5/10)

Midfield

Jonathan dos Santos: Moved the ball very well in a strong first-half performance, but it was the Mexican's loose pass that allowed Busquets to feed Neymar for the game's opening goal. (6/10)

Tomas Pina: Did a super job of protecting his back four in the first period, but the midfielder struggled in the early stages of the second and was replaced in the 66th minute by Cedric Bakambu. (6/10)

Bruno: Always classy in possession of the ball, but the experienced midfielder did seem to run out of legs as the match developed. Could not stop Barcelona taking control of matters. (6/10)

Denis Suarez: Proved a threat in the first half when he managed to isolate members of Barcelona's defence, but the attacker lacked that final pass when he needed it most. (6/10)

Samu Castillejo: Had his team's best chance in the first period, but after finding space inside the box, could not beat Bravo from close range. Did not get the better of Alba on too many occasions. (6/10)

Attack

Roberto Soldado: Hardly had any support for long spells, but held the ball up well and brought teammates into play. Flashed his only attempt wide of the post in the first period. (6/10)

Substitutes

Cedric Bakambu: Will have been disappointed not to have started after his good form this season, but the forward struggled to make an impact after being introduced in the 66th minute. (6/10)

Samuel Garcia: Thrown on in place of Castillejo for final 10 minutes, but it was a big ask for the Spaniard to make an impression during a period where Barcelona were in complete control. (6/10)
