Blackburn Rovers manager Steve Kean has said that he was encouraged following his side's second-half performance at West Bromwich Albion, despite their eventual defeat.

The Baggies went ahead in the opening stages through Martin Olsson's own goal, before Marc-Antoine Fortune and Liam Ridgewell went on to seal the win with a couple of late second-half strikes in spite of Blackburn's statistical dominance

"I don't think it's [a fair result]," he told Sky Sports News.

"I looked at the first half and felt we were poor. In the second half we came out much better, much more positive. We managed to get a lot of possession and a lot of chances but we had to score.

"For the first 15 or 16 minutes of the second half, West Brom couldn't get out of their half. It was wave after wave of attack. So that's encouraging. The lads responded well."

Following the defeat, Blackburn remain in the relegation places on goal difference.
