Bury have signed Leon Clarke on a three-year deal after the striker was released by Wolverhampton Wanderers.
The 30-year-old, who has scored 91 goals in 197 appearances during his career, was released by Wolves 15 months after joining the club for a second spell.
"The club, chairman and management team have been working tirelessly for the last three weeks to capture the signature of Leon," Bury manager David Flitcroft told the club's website.
"When we found out a player of his ability and quality was potentially available, we had to do all that we could to secure his services.
"He is pure pedigree and has incredible goal scoring ability. He has the pace, power and intelligence to have a massive impact for us next season."
Bury will play their football in League One next season, having just won promotion from the fourth tier.
