Nemanja Vidic believes that Manchester United should be given credit for their record-breaking form this season.

Manchester United defender Nemanja Vidic believes that he and his teammates should be shown respect for their form this season.

The North-West outfit are leading the Premier League title race with a 15-point advantage, but their quest for the treble ended when they were knocked out of the Champions League and FA Cup.

Despite only having one trophy in their sights, United are on course to accumulate the most points, most wins and largest victory margin in Premier League history.

"These would be really great achievements," The Express quotes Vidic as saying. "If you have those stats, you cannot argue. I feel we have played well this year.

"OK, maybe we can improve certain things but, if you look at the team performance this year, I think it is better than any other season. We have used so many players this season.

"So many players have a role to play, so credit to everyone. We are determined to win the trophies, but we care about style too. The most important thing, though, is to think game by game."

United have already become the first top-flight outfit to clinch 25 wins from their first 30 matches in the campaign.
