Former England striker Gary Lineker has backed the Football Association's proposals to increase the number of home-grown players in the country.
FA chairman Greg Dyke revealed plans for an overhaul of the English game on Monday, with an emphasis on giving younger players a chance.
Lineker, who scored 48 goals in 80 games for England, believes that the initiatives are an encouraging step forward.
Hugely encouraged and applaud @FA initiatives. Encouraging our young English talent in opportunity, facilities and coaching. #homegrown

The FA wants to introduce the proposals from 2016, but they are expecting opposition from Premier League clubs.
