Luke Shaw tells Southampton he wants Manchester United move?

Luke Shaw reportedly told Southampton on the final day of the Premier League season that he wants to join Manchester United.

Southampton left-back Luke Shaw reportedly told the club on the final day of the Premier League season that he wants to join Manchester United.

The Red Devils are believed to be in pole position to land the 18-year-old, who is currently in Brazil for England's World Cup campaign.

Reports have claimed that United, who will be under the guidance of Louis van Gaal next season, lodged a £27m bid for Shaw after a 1-1 draw with the Saints on the last day of the league campaign on May 11.

According to BBC Sport, the teenager told Southampton's hierarchy at a hotel event that he wants to join the former English champions this summer.

It is believed that Southampton will not consider selling any of their star players until they appoint a new manager following the departure of Mauricio Pochettino to Tottenham Hotspur.

Shaw's teammate Adam Lallana is reportedly wanted by Liverpool.
