Team GB's Andy Murray breezes into third round of singles at Rio Olympics

Team GB tennis star Andy Murray eases into the third round of the men's singles with a straight-sets win over Juan Monaco of Argentina at the Rio Olympics.

Team GB's flagbearer Andy Murray has eased his way into the third round of the men's singles event at the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.

The three-time Grand Slam champion took just 69 minutes to earn a 6-3 6-1 victory over Juan Monaco of Argentina on Tuesday.

Murray raced to a 3-1 lead in the first set with an early break of serve, but Monaco managed to show some intent by converting a second break point of his own.

It did not trouble the defending Olympic champion, though, as he broke again before wrapping up the opening set in 40 minutes.

It was a comfortable second set for Murray as he took just half an hour to seal victory, dropping serve just once throughout the match.
