The world number 18 eased past his opponent 6-3 6-4 6-3 to produce a stunning revenge after the Spaniard's straight-sets victory during this year's Barcelona Open.

Tsonga was in control of the match from the start, producing two breaks to take the first set over the world number 77.

The Frenchman continued to dominate in the second, with an early break proving to be the difference as Tsonga headed towards a speedy victory.

The 30-year-old wrapped up the win with two breaks in the final set, as Granollers was unable to cope with Tsonga, who entertained the crowd with a powerful display.
