Martin O'Neill recognises Arsenal threat

Sunderland boss Martin O'Neill refutes claims that Arsenal are a one-man team, arguing that the Gunners pose threats from all areas.

Sunderland manager Martin O'Neill has told his players not to underestimate Saturday's opponents Arsenal after suggestions that they are a one-man team.

The Black Cats have been in impressive form since O'Neill took over, but the former Aston Villa boss is in no doubt of the threat the Gunners will pose, and not just through free-scoring striker Robin Van Persie.

"They have enough talent in their team. They are playing Champions League football next week, which is a credit to them," said the 59-year-old.

"They have qualified once again into the latter stages of the competition, so I am not so sure that one man could just carry that on his own.

"They have talent, they have a bit of pace in their team as well, and their victory last week will give them encouragement and confidence for the rest of the season."

Sunderland currently sit eighth in the Premier League table, seven points behind sixth-place Arsenal.
