Middle East club Al-Sadd have denied suggestions that they have made Barcelona midfielder Xavi a lucrative contract offer this summer.
Reports in Spain had claimed that the Qatari outfit were putting the final touches on a big-money move for the 34-year-old.
However, a statement on the club's official website has denied contact with the Spaniard.
"The official website of Al Sadd denies all news transmitted through the media about the club's offer for Barcelona player Xavi Hernandez, and that everything that was said is incorrect and unrealistic," the statement read.
Xavi, who has two years remaining on his Barcelona deal, is expected to decide his future after the World Cup this summer.
