Former Manchester United star Paul Scholes has admitted that the team looks unbalanced following the sales of strikers Robin van Persie and Javier Hernandez.
Speaking in the wake of the Red Devils' 2-1 defeat to PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League, the ex-England international said that allowing the forwards to leave without recruiting replacements was a mistake.
"The one thing with the United squad now is that they're short of goals," he told BT Sport.
"Short of real top quality centre-forwards who guarantee you goals.
"[Louis] van Gaal spoke last year about his squad being unbalanced and I think it's even more unbalanced now without top strikers."
The Group B clash was marred by a horrific injury to United defender Luke Shaw, who suffered a double leg fracture.
