Sports Mole provides updates of all the latest transfer developments involving football clubs home and abroad.

Welcome to Sports Mole's live transfer blog on Tuesday, July 21.

Records were broken last summer in the Premier League when £835m was spent overall on transfers in England's top flight.

At this point in the window, we're a way off matching that total, with Raheem Sterling's £49m transfer from Liverpool to Manchester City being the most expensive transfer so far.

With around six weeks to go until the window slams shut, plenty more money is expected to change hands, but as for today, we will keep you updated with all the latest developments as they happen.

Good morning all! You're waking up to another day of busy transfer activity (hopefully). While the summer window does not officially close until September 2, Premier League clubs in particular are in a race against time to bring additions to their squads before the season starts in just over two weeks' time. If you asked most clubs, they would ideally want to finalise their business before the league campaign begins, but most of the time, it doesn't work out that way!

DONE DEAL! Some early news to bring you comes from across the channel in France. You may have heard that Tottenham Hotspur's Benjamin Stambouli was close to joining newly-promoted Premier League club Watford, but in a bit of a U-turn, the midfielder has signed for Paris Saint-Germain on a five-year deal.

It appears that Louis van Gaal has stoked the fires at Manchester United by telling reporters in a press conference in California that the club are in the process of signing a new striker, despite reports on Monday claiming that the Red Devils are unlikely to add a new forward to their squad. The Dutchman also hinted that Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos could be on his way to Old Trafford. Quite revealing from the ex-Netherlands boss, but is he just toying with us?

It's early in the day, so let's revisit the stories that emerged overnight in our latest transfer talk update. Click here to have a look!

DONE DEAL! Last night, Atletico Madrid confirmed that they have completed the signing of Stefan Savic from Fiorentina. Read more.

It's been rather quiet on the Charlie Austin front. The Queens Park Rangers striker has been linked to numerous Premier League clubs over the past month or so, but a transfer is yet to materialise. A report from The Shields Gazette claims that interested clubs, including Newcastle United and West Ham United, have been put off by QPR's £15m asking price. It is believed that Austin is prepared to run down his contract and leave for nothing next summer.

Barcelona forward Pedro has made the headlines of late. The Spaniard has been linked to both Chelsea and Manchester United, but his current teammate Luis Suarez has urged him to stay at the Camp Nou and fight for his place in the team.

Could Everton be adding a new face to their dressing room soon? According to reports in Spain, the Toffees are looking at Barcelona midfielder Sergi Roberto, who is out of favour at Camp Nou.

DONE DEAL! Newcastle United have made their second signing of the summer with the capture of striker Aleksandar Mitrovic from Anderlecht on a five-year deal. More on this developing story here.

Nottingham Forest are said to be looking for options in the left-back position and it appears that they have identified a potential signing. According to a newspaper report, the Championship side are looking to take Manchester United's Reece James on loan.

It appears that Watford are on the verge of adding their eighth signing of the summer. The Hornets have been linked with AZ man Steven Berguis, and the winger has now confirmed that the two clubs are close to agreeing a deal for him. More on this story here.

Into the Championship now, where Cardiff City are looking to bolster their squad ahead of the new campaign. The Bluebirds are keen to sign Derby County frontman Johnny Russell this summer, according to a report.

Derby County defender Raul Albentosa has joined Malaga on loan until the end of the season. The 26-year-old has made just nine appearances for the Rams since arriving at the club from Eibar in January.

Spanish midfielder Xabi Alonso has admitted that he is unsure whether he will sign a new contract at Bayern Munich. The 33-year-old joined Bayern from Real Madrid last summer and made 40 appearances during his first season in Germany.

Brazilian midfielder Casemiro has revealed that his plans were always to return to Real Madrid this summer. The 23-year-old spent last season on loan at Porto, who turned his short-term stay into a permanent deal before the end of the season.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in bringing Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez to White Hart Lane this summer. The Mexican international spent last season on loan with Real Madrid, but has since returned to his parent club and as it stands, will link up with United in the United States at the end of this week.

Manchester United have reportedly agreed a fee with Barcelona in the region of £22m for Spanish attacker Pedro. The 27-year-old only recently signed a new long-term deal with the Catalan outfit, but with his chances of first-team football now limited at the Camp Nou, talk of a move away has grown in recent weeks.

Ukrainian international Yevhen Konoplyanka has revealed that he turned down a host of offers to join Sevilla this summer. The attacker was available on a free transfer after deciding to leave Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk following the expiration of his contract.

Staying with Sevilla, they have reportedly added Barcelona midfielder Alen Halilovic to their wishlist. According to Mundo Deportivo, they want to sign the Croatian on a season-long loan deal.

What is about Manchester United goalkeepers this summer? The futures of David de Gea and Victor Valdes are both uncertain, but according to a report, Anders Lindegaard has decided to stay at Old Trafford. That would be a surprise, given that the Dane has made just 19 Premier League appearances since his arrival in 2010.

They've already signed Robin van Persie and Nani, but a report has claimed that Fenerbahce have not finished shopping in the Premier League this summer. Find out which player they are supposedly after here.

DONE DEAL! Nicky Shorey - remember him? He's agreed a move to Indian side FC Pune City along with goalkeeper Steve Simonsen. Read all about it here.

NEW CONTRACT! Positive news for Watford fans as Almen Abdi signs a new three-year deal at Vicarage Road. The story is developing here.

Oh dear Everton supporters, you may want to avert your eyes for a moment. It has been reported this afternoon that Chelsea's public pursuit of John Stones has turned the head of the younger defender, who apparently wants to move to Stamford Bridge. The fee in question would be around £30m - good business?

DONE DEAL! It's taken a while, but Blackburn Rovers have made their first signing of the summer. To find out the identity of the player, click here.

DONE DEAL! England Under-21 international Patrick Bamford signs a new three-year contract with Chelsea and is immediately sent to Crystal Palace on loan for the 2015-16 season. More on this soon.

Click here for the full story on Bamford's loan move to Palace. He is their second signing of the summer after the impressive capture of Yohan Cabaye.

Branislav Ivanovic has been one of the most reliable defenders in recent Premier League seasons, but he only has a year left on his current Chelsea deal and the Blues have reportedly not yet opened talks over a new deal.

Which shirt will Didier Drogba be pulling on in what could be the final chapter of his playing career? The Ivorian striker has been linked with clubs in Italy and America, and the latest is that he would rather play for Montreal Impact than Chicago Fire if he were to join Stevie G and Lamps in MLS.

DONE DEAL! After making their first signing of the summer earlier today, Blackburn Rovers announce another arrival in the form of Bangaly-Fode Koita. London buses etc. Doesn't he look delighted!

Here's more on Rovers' second signing of the day.

Newly-promoted Watford have been one of the busiest Premier League clubs this summer and it sounds like they could be about to make another signing. Click here for more.

DONE DEAL! Valencia have a new goalkeeper from Down Under and his name is... well you'll have to click here to find out.

Victor Valdes might not be on Manchester United's US tour, but it sounds like one of the sides United have visited, the Seattle Sounders, are keen on him.

Since winning the playoff final for an instant return to the top flight, Norwich City have only been able to do two bits of business, which is nowhere near as busy as Watford and Bournemouth. Canaries boss Alex Neil has admitted their business to be "disappointing", but is hopeful that more deals can be done.

7PM UPDATE! Goodness me it's been a busy day of done deals and tasty rumours. That's why you simply must follow this link and read our 7pm update so that you're fully up to date.

Let's talk goalkeepers. First, is Arsenal's Wojciech Szczesny off to Roma now that Petr Cech has become a Gunner? Second, a former Real Madrid stopper has weighed in on the David de Gea speculation, unsurprisingly saying that Los Blancos need to sign the Spaniard from Man United.

BREAKING! Argentinian midfielder Esteban Cambiasso will NOT play again for Leicester next season. He just announced the news over on his official Facebook page.

Cambiasso said: "I have taken this decision only 24 hours after receiving [a new contract] from Leicester because I want to give the club as much time as possible to find an alternative. I would like to thanks all the fans who last season made me feel proud to be part of a club with an unforgettable spirit and energy."

Click here for the full story on Cambiasso's decision not to stay with Leicester. It's a big blow for new Foxes boss Claudio Ranieri as one of his top priorities since being appointed was to secure the Argentinian for another season.

Do West Brom need reinforcements up front? They've been linked with a Colombian striker and you'll have to click here to see who it is.

Reports earlier this evening suggested that Szczesny could be out of the door for Arsenal, and he may be swiftly followed by Mathieu Flamini. The Gunners have reportedly agreed a fee with Turkish outfit Galatasaray for the defensive midfielder.

DONE DEAL! More departures from a Premier League club, although these won't make quite as many headlines. Everton have seen two of their players join Wigan Athletic on loan - find out who by clicking here.

The Premier League exits keep on coming, and after the news that Filipe Luis is on his way out of Stamford Bridge after just one season, Jose Mourinho has confirmed that he is now in the market for a replacement to provide competition for Cesar Azpilicueta.

Sticking with Chelsea, they have let another one of their defenders leave the club today, although this time it is only on a temporary basis. Kenneth Omeruo will spend the next season on loan in Turkey, and you can find that full story by clicking here.

From defenders leaving Stamford Bridge to one who might be arriving, and one of the biggest transfer stories currently brewing is that of Everton's John Stones to Chelsea. The Premier League champions have made no secret of their desire to sign the promising centre-back, but manager Jose Mourinho has now insisted that he understands the Toffees' stance. However, that doesn't mean he will end the pursuit...

I said Stones to Chelsea was one of the biggest transfer stories at the moment, but in truth that would be blown out of the water by a Sergio Ramos switch to Manchester United. The Red Devils and Real Madrid have been flirting with each other over a few signings all summer, but if reports are to believed then United could be one step closer to getting their man. Find out more here.

Meanwhile, long-time Arsenal target Julian Draxler could finally be on his way out of Schalke. Don't get too excited though Gooners, as it appears he could be off to Serie A and the winners of a double last season.

Liverpool fans will be expecting a number of outgoings before the transfer window shuts on the opening day of September, and one of those who could be on his way is Rickie Lambert, whose time at his boyhood club hasn't exactly gone to plan. Find out who is after the big striker by clicking here.

The goalkeeping positions at Manchester United have been the subject of much debate so far this summer. According to one report in the press this evening, the former Premier League champions have opened talks with Argentina goalkeeper Sergio Romero over the possibility of a three-year deal.

Liverpool have certainly not been shy with their spending during the current window. The Daily Star is reporting that the Anfield club could be prepared to spend even more to capture the services of Paris Saint-Germain full-back Lucas Digne.

League One side Wigan Athletic appear to have wrapped up a smart piece of business this evening. The Latics have signed Manchester United defender Reece James on a three-year deal. More on that story here.

Premier League newcomers Watford could soon become home to two new faces. It is being suggested that Spartak Moscow midfielder Jose Manuel Jurado and Napoli defender Miguel Britos are both close to agreeing moves to the Hornets.

Arsenal have done one major piece of business ahead of the new Premier League campaign. According to one report tonight, the Gunners could complete another transfer as they explore the possibility of acquiring Schalke 04 full-back Sead Kolasinac, who is valued at £6m.

That is going to be all from us this evening. Make sure you pop along again tomorrow as we will be bringing you more news and gossip from across the world of transfers...
