Welcome to Sports Mole's live transfer blog on Thursday, January 15.

Just 18 days now remain for clubs at home and abroad to finalise their transfer business, as things begin to truly heat up in the mid-season window.

Wilfried Bony's switch to Manchester City for a reported fee of £28m remains the highest-profile move thus far, although that can all change in the coming days as speculation continues to intensify.

Here, we will keep you up-to-date with all the latest transfer rumours and completed deals as they emerge throughout the day.

Good morning and welcome to the latest instalment of Sports Mole's live transfer blog. Wilfried Bony's much-anticipated move to the champions may have been completed yesterday, but plenty of questions remain unanswered as we enter the final 18 days of the window.

Will Jermain Defoe end his stint in the United States and link up with Sunderland? Will Winston Reid finalise a move away from Upton Park? Will Stevan Jovetic be the man to make way at Manchester City following Bony's arrival?

We'll no doubt find out more across the duration of the day, right here on our dedicated transfer blog.

One man who has been forced to stay put at his current club this month is Chelsea defender Nathaniel Chalobah. The youngster was closing in on a loan move to Bordeaux, although FIFA regulations have put an end to any deal being completed.

Chalobah has already featured for Burnley and Chelsea's Under-21s side this campaign, meaning that he will now have to see out the season at Stamford Bridge. Read more on that collapsed switch right here.

We saw plenty of transfer speculation emerge overnight, including reported developments on the futures of Radamel Falcao, Winston Reid and Stevan Jovetic, all of which can be found in our first Transfer Talk Update of the day.

There's a couple of updates to bring you now on a couple of forwards seeking a future outside of North London. Lukas Podolski was given a short-term lifeline by Inter Milan earlier this month, and the World Cup winner admits that he will have to wait until the summer before making a decision on his future beyond this campaign.

Emmanuel Adebayor is another who has failed to make an impact this season, although Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino insists that the striker does have a part to play at White Hart Lane this season.

The current highest transfer fee paid out in this month's window is the £28m Manchester City splashed out to land Wilfried Bony. Well that will be blown completely out the water should this rumoured move come off which suggests that Lionel Messi could join the Premier League champions in a move worth £480m.

And on that bombshell I'll hand things over to Danielle Joynson, who will bring you any updates across the next few hours.

DONE DEAL! Thanks Dan. Good morning all! Let me begin by bringing you some news from the Championship involving Cardiff City's Javi Guerra... Read more.

As you may have heard, Arsenal are reportedly closing in on the signing of 17-year-old Krystian Bielik from Legia Warsaw. However, the club's manager Henning Berg has claimed that the young talent is wanted by "half of Europe".

Let's jump over to Spain and discuss the future of Barcelona full-back Dani Alves. The Brazilian is out of contract in the summer and has been linked with a move to the Premier League. According to his agent and ex-partner Dinorah Santa Ana, Alves is keeping his options open and would consider signing a new deal at the Camp Nou.

Manchester United have strengthened their squad this month with the free transfer of ex-Barcelona goalkeeper Victor Valdes, but they are yet to secure the signatures of any outfield players. According to reports, Louis van Gaal has set his sights on Bayern Munich star Thomas Muller. However, it is believed that the German champions have rejected a £45m bid from the Premier League giants this week.

Right, that's all from me for the time being, so I shall hand you back over to my colleague Dan Lewis, who will provide you with any updates as they happen in the next three hours.

DONE DEAL! Thanks Danielle. I'll begin my stint on transfer watch by bringing you news of a bit of movement in the Championship.

Leeds United full-back Stephen Warnock has this afternoon completed his switch to Derby County on an initial 18-month deal for an undisclosed fee.

DONE DEAL! Staying in the Football League and there's another completed transfer of sorts to bring you now as Peterborough United bring in Scott Loach on loan.

The Posh were in need of a goalkeeper following the news that Ben Alnwick will miss up to two months of action with a thigh injury, and they've landed a former England Under-21s international to see them through the next month at least. Click here to read more.

DONE DEALS! Well it has certainly been a busy day in the Football League so far, particularly in the Championship where Wolverhampton Wanderers have become the latest side to join in with things.

Having signed Benik Afobe from Arsenal earlier this week, Kenny Jackett has now taken the decision to send youngsters Jake Cassidy and Liam McAlinden out on loan for the remainder of the campaign.

Arsenal supporters were earlier hit by the news that midfielder Mikel Arteta will miss a further three months of the season through injury, but how about this to soften the blow...

Fresh reports have emerged suggesting that Arsene Wenger could make an audacious double swoop for Borussia Dortmund pair Ilkay Gundogan and Mats Hummels this month.

BREAKING NEWS! Legia Warsaw have revealed that in-demand youngster Krystian Bielik will undergo a medical tomorrow afternoon. More on that, plus the views of the man at the centre of a tug-of-war in recent weeks, to come in due course.

A little more on Krystian Bielik's imminent move to Arsenal now, as the Polish youngster declares his intentions to play for the Gunners.

Legia Warsaw have revealed in the last 20 minutes that the 17-year-old will undergo a medical at the Emirates Stadium tomorrow afternoon. A fee of £2m is believed to have been agreed between the two clubs.

Well that's all from me, but fear not as I'll now pass the baton back over to Danielle Joynson, who will keep you updated with all the latest goings on for the next four hours or so.

Thanks Dan! As mentioned earlier, Krystian Bielik is expected to become an Arsenal player within the next few days, and Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has been speaking about the club's transfer activity. The Frenchman has not named names, but he has revealed that he wants to bring "one or two" additions to the Emirates before the end of the month.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has been asked about Mario Balotelli in his weekly press conference - when does that ever happen...? Once again, the Northern Irishman has insisted that the controversial Italian striker will not be sold this month. Rumours of a possible return to the Serie A for Balotelli have been circulating for some time now, despite the 24-year-old only joining the Reds in September.

We have some bad and good news for Southampton fans - the bad news is that midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin is expected to be sidelined for three weeks with an adductor injury, but the good news is that a transfer out of the club this month looks highly unlikely. In the last few weeks, Manchester United emerged as potential suitors for the Frenchman.

Let's stay in the Premier League, but let's move up to Stoke City, where manager Mark Hughes has confirmed that defender Robert Huth is allowed to leave the club on loan in order to gain some more game time. West Bromwich Albion boss Tony Pulis, who coached Huth during his time at the Britannia, has been registered with an interest in the player.

Following numerous reports that Liverpool are trying to cut short Divock Origi's loan move at Lille, manager Brendan Rodgers has confirmed today that the club are in talks to do so. The Belgian was loaned back to the Ligue 1 outfit after the Reds paid around £10m for the striker last summer. With the Reds struggling for goals, could Origi be the answer?

Queens Park Rangers are never far from the transfer gossip pages. Today, Sky Sports News are reporting that the club are interested in signing Standard Liege winger Paul-Jose M'Poku. The 22-year-old previously played under Harry Redknapp at Tottenham Hotspur and it appears that the former is looking for a reunion.

So, Liverpool fans, what do you make of those recent rumours that the Reds are keen to sign Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain? The Premier League outfit have been linked with a £30m January bid for the Argentine, but according to his brother and agent Nicolas Higuain, there has been no contact from Liverpool.

Staying with Liverpool and it is understood that the club are planning to recall Jordan Ibe from his loan stint at Derby County. The 19-year-old was due to remain at the Championship club until the end of the season, but the Reds are reportedly keen to bring him back early.

Well, it appears that Liverpool have moved faster than first thought! The club have just announced on their official website that Jordan Ibe has returned from Derby County and will be available for this weekend's trip to face Aston Villa.

My shift on transfer watch has come to an end, but I shall hand you over to my colleague Giuseppe Labellarte, who will keep you updated with all the latest over the next few hours. I'll leave you with our latest Transfer Talk Update.

Thanks, Danielle! Giuseppe here and I'll be taking you through the next few hours of transfer news and speculation. Some potentially big news has emerged as highly-rated Borussia Dortmund winger Marco Reus, said to be on Chelsea's radar, has allegedly agreed to join Real Madrid at the end of the season.

Everton are rumoured to be signing Partizan Belgrade wonderkid Stefan Lukic. The 18-year-old midfielder has reportedly told Serbian press that a deal between himself and the Toffees has already been agreed.

Adnan Januzaj was a shining light in Manchester United's languid 2013-14 season, but has found game time limited under Louis van Gaal this time round. Despite this, David Moyes has played down reports linking his Real Sociedad side with the 19-year-old winger.

Sticking with Old Trafford, Van Gaal is rumoured to be in the process of offloading a trio of players during this transfer window. Darren Fletcher, Anders Lindegaard and Tom Cleverley are all reportedly being shown the door.

Swansea City aren't having a great transfer window, are they? Reeling from the sale of talismanic striker Wilfried Bony to Manchester City, the Swans are now reportedly at risk of losing left-back Neil Taylor. Crystal Palace are said to have made a £3m bid for the Wales international.

Young Manchester United defenders Paddy McNair and Tyler Blackett have done quite well after breaking into the Red Devils first team this season, but according to reports, the club has not yet offered them new contracts. Their current deals only run until the end of the season, and the duo are in fact free to speak to other European clubs as of January 1.

Well folks, my time on this evening's transfer newsdesk has come to an end, but don't go anywhere, because my colleague Mark Langshaw will be taking you through the next few hours!

Good evening! I'm here to take you through until the close at 2am. The first story that has drawn my attention is the news that Swansea City have rejected an offer for defender Neil Taylor. More on that one in just a moment...

More on the Neil Taylor story, as promised... Crystal Palace are said to have tabled an offer of more than £3m for the Welshman, but Swansea City have apparently knocked it back. That development could well alert West Bromwich Albion boss Tony Pulis, who is also believed to be interested in Taylor.

If you've just joined us, you can find a recap of some of this evening's biggest transfer stories in our latest Transfer Talk Update. Coming up, some quotes from Alan Pardew about how he failed to convince Jermain Defoe to join Crystal Palace.

Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew has admitted that he wanted to sign Jermain Defoe from Toronto FC but was too late with his approach. The former England international is now on the verge of completing his move to Sunderland after passing a medical at the Stadium of Light.

Manchester United are reportedly ready to hand manager Louis van Gaal another £150m warchest to fund their push for Champions League qualification. Mats Hummels, Kevin Strootman and Nathaniel Clyne are believed to be at the top of the Dutchman's shopping list.

Coming up, Lucas Leiva's rumoured move to Inter Milan appears to be in doubt....

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has said that he is unwilling to part with Lucas Leiva in January, suggesting that the Brazilian's rumoured move to Inter Milan will not be going ahead.

Manchester United midfielder Adnan Januzaj has allegedly been told that he will not be sent out on loan in January and urged to fight for his place in the first team. The youngster has been frozen out of Louis van Gaal's plans this season, and been linked with the likes of Everton, Aston Villa and Real Sociedad.

Time for a quick recap on some of today's done deals... Stephen Warnock has completed his switch from Leeds United to Derby County on an initial 18-month contract and Cardiff City have snapped up Javi Guerra from Malaga. You can get yourself up to speed with this evening's other developments with our latest Transfer Talk Update.

I'll leave you with one more story as it's time to wrap up... Roma and Juventus are believed to be plotting summer bids for Manchester United loanee Radamel Falcao. The Colombian international has a had a tough time at Old Trafford, suffering injury setbacks, and the Serie A giants have reportedly contacted his representatives to declare their interest.

That's all we have time for this evening, but be sure to join us at 7am when our live transfer blog resumes. Goodnight all!
