Bierhoff: 'Can likely to leave Liverpool'

Germany chief Oliver Bierhoff says that Liverpool midfielder Emre Can has a "60% to 80%" chance of joining Juventus during the summer.

Germany chief Oliver Bierhoff has claimed that there is more chance of Liverpool midfielder Emre Can moving to Serie A than Schalke 04 star Leon Goretzka.

Both players are expected to move on from their current clubs before the start of next season, with Can being heavily linked with Juventus and Goretzka attracting interest from England, Spain and Italy.

However, Bierhoff - who now holds a role with the German national side - has suggested that Can is nearing a transfer to champions Juventus.

Bierhoff told Tuttosport: "We're talking about two important players. They'll have so many options for the future, they'll be personal choices. At the moment England is the top for a player, and after that there's the lure of the powerful Spanish clubs.

"Emre Can and Goretzka would definitely be successful in Serie A too. Unless Inter return to the top though, if one of these players were to choose Italy now it would only be for Juventus.

"There's not much chance for Goretzka, maybe only 20%. I think there's a lot more for Emre Can, I'd say 60-80 per cent."

Both Can's and Goretzka's contracts expire at the end of the current campaign.
