Simona Halep has powered into the Wimbledon semi-finals with a straight-sets win over 2013 finalist Sabine Lisicki.

Lisicki raced into a 4-1 lead at the start of the opening set, but third seed Halep then reeled off five consecutive games to take it 6-4.

The dominant Romanian swiftly went 3-0 up in the second, and she was able to complete the convincing victory 6-4 6-0 with an hour on the clock.

The runner-up at this year's French Open will now face Eugenie Bouchard for a place in Saturday's final.
