Lionel Messi has admitted that he and his Argentina teammates are "desperate" to win the Copa America final against hosts Chile.
Despite having boasted an array of world-class players for many years, the 2014 World Cup finalists have not won a major trophy since winning the Copa in 1993.
The 28-year-old Barcelona forward told BBC Sport: "This generation is desperate to win a title with the national team.
"As a team, we deserve to win something and it would mean so much after the World Cup where we came so close."
The Albiceleste will join Uruguay as the most successful side in the tournament's history if they win their 14th Copa America title on Saturday.
