Wednesday's Copa del Rey predictions including Athletic Bilbao vs. Barcelona

Sports Mole provides score predictions and previews for all of today's Copa del Rey fixtures, including Athletic Bilbao vs. Barcelona.

Mallorca vs. Girona (Wednesday, 6.30pm)

Girona will look to create memories in an unforgettable season when they face Mallorca in Wednesday's Copa del Rey quarter-final clash.

Mallorca have avoided defeat in their last four competitive games, while their opponents are unbeaten in 17 matches since losing to Real Madrid in September.

We say: Mallorca 1-2 Girona

Mallorca will be looking to make full use of home advantage, having lost just one of their 11 competitive home matches this season.

While we think the hosts could frustrate Girona during periods of the contest, we expect the visitors to draw upon their attacking firepower to claim a narrow win and advance to the semi-finals.

Our tipster partners are predicting over 1.5 goals.

Athletic Bilbao vs. Barcelona (Wednesday, 8.30pm)

Two Copa del Rey aficionados will square off in a tantalising quarter-final on Wednesday night, as Athletic Bilbao host Barcelona at San Mames.

Ernesto Valverde reunites with his former employers after leading the Basque outfit to a 2-0 win over Alaves in the last 16, while La Blaugrana saw off Unionistas 3-1.

We say: Athletic Bilbao 1-2 Barcelona

In spite of their well-documented shortcomings, Barcelona remain as sharp as a tack in the final third, scoring in each of their last 15 contests and netting at least two goals in seven of their last eight battles.

La Blaugrana will certainly not have it all their own way at San Mames, where familiar opponents Athletic have dispatched teams for fun in recent weeks, but the Lions often lose their attacking bite when faced with a wall of Barca shirts and should fall just short as Xavi's side deny them a fifth successive semi-final appearance.

Our tipster partners are predicting under 3.5 goals.
