Report: Besiktas want Ibrahim Afellay

A report claims that Besiktas want to sign Barcelona attacker Ibrahim Afellay this summer.

Besiktas are reportedly interested in signing Barcelona attacker Ibrahim Afellay this summer.

The 28-year-old moved to the Camp Nou from PSV Eindhoven in 2011, but injuries have harmed his career with the Catalan outfit.

The Netherlands international did spend a part of the 2012-13 campaign on loan at Schalke 04, however, scoring twice in 10 league appearances for the Bundesliga outfit.

According to Algemeen Dagblad, Besiktas currently lead the race for the experienced midfielder, who is expected to be available for a cut-price fee this summer.

However, it is understood that a number of European clubs are monitoring proceedings.
