Steven Naismith close to Everton return

Everton manager Roberto Martinez suggests that Steven Naismith could be back in action against Hull after recovering from a hamstring injury.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez has revealed that Steven Naismith has an "outside chance" of being fit for Wednesday's visit of Hull City following a hamstring injury.

The Scotland international midfielder has missed the Toffees' last two matches because of the problem.

Martinez has refused to confirm whether Naismith is back to full fitness, but the Spaniard has suggested that he could feature at Goodison Park tomorrow night.

"He is not far away. He has had a lot of games and now it is just getting him back ready to play. He has an outside chance," Martinez told reporters.

Everton are currently in 10th place in the Premier League table, five points adrift of the top four.
