Leicester City striker Darius Vassell is expected to miss the remainder of the season after he underwent surgery on a knee problem.
The 31-year-old former England international sustained a tear to his medial meniscus and ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament during his side's 3-2 loss to West Ham United a fortnight ago.
The operation has been described as "successful" by the club and they have confirmed that he should recover in six months' time.
Vassell joined the Foxes in 2010 from Turkish side Ankaragucu.
