Daniel Sturridge plays down Liverpool's Premier League title chances

Daniel Sturridge plays down Liverpool's chances of being crowned Premier League champions this season.

Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has insisted that he is being realistic in terms of his side's chances of clinching the Premier League title this season.

The Merseyside outfit are currently second in the table, seven points adrift of leaders Chelsea with one game in hand.

"I wouldn't say that we're favourites for the Premier League," Sturridge told Sky Sports News. "I think that there are other teams that can win the Premier League ahead of us. We're going to do our best and try in every game to get maximum points."

The Reds' next test is against bitter rivals Manchester United on Sunday.
